Around Europe several demonstrations were organized by patriotic forces on the 1st of May, including some from Alliance for Peace and Freedoms national partners in Belgium, Germany and Czech Republic.
Belgium
In Brussels the authorities tried to prevent Nation from demonstrating by turning down requests, deploying forces and putting up a blockade. Nevertheless, fifty activist managed to demonstrate on Van Meenen in front of the town hall of St. Gilles. There, representatives of Nation held some speeches. This was the fourth year in a row that Nation had organized a 1st of May demonstration in Brussels.
Czech Republic
In Prague, about 150 people participated in the demonstration of Worker Party of Social Justice (DSSS) on the 1st of May. The parole of the demonstration was: “Our work = our money” and: “YES to sovereignty, NO to dictate of EU”.
Among the speakers were Erik Lamprecht, vice-president of DSSS and leader of Worker Youth. The President of the party, and member of the board in the Alliance for Peace and Freedom, Tomas Vandas, who spoke about the recent development in Europe.
Also the vice-president of DSSS Jiří Štěpánek, held a speech, on the topic of the immigration crisis, and stated, “We must secure our traditions and our history”.
Germany
In Germany the Alliance for Peace and Freedoms national partner, NPD, held rallies and demonstrations in several cities, such as Berlin, Bochum and Wurzen. The largest demonstration they organized was in Schwerin in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, were almost 500 patriots participated.
Speeches were held by NPD:s party leader, Frank Franz, and also from the regional representatives Udo Pastörs and Stefan Köster. Invited to speak at this demonstration was also Stefan Jacobsson, Secretary General of the Alliance for Peace and Freedom.
