The Pentagon is out of control! That’s the view of the Russian Ministry of Defence, which has specifically said that it believes that President Trump does not know the sinister and cynical game being played by US forces on the ground in Syria and Iraq as they co-operate with Islamic State.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense is accusing the U.S. of being the last big hurdle in the way of destroying the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) in Syria, after repeatedly pointing out how Washington is shielding the group it claims to be fighting.
“The main obstacle to completing the annihilation of ISIS in Syria seems to be not the fighting ability of the terrorists themselves but the support and dalliance with their American colleagues,” the ministry’s spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in his briefing on Wednesday, state news agency Itar-Tass reported.
Russia has accused the U.S. of assisting ISIS. Moscow has said its Syrian allies were attacked by militants coming from areas near a deconfliction zone overseen by the U.S., while large convoys of ISIS fighters are allowed to move freely in areas patrolled by US warplanes.
Russia is clearly losing patience with the situation, although its spokesmen are at pains to point out that they think that the US help to ISIS is being provided unofficially. In other words, as usual, the military/intelligence ‘community’ is running the show, ignoring the wishes of the American people, and the man they elected to put an end to the shame of the Obama years, when the USA became the world’s biggest ever gun-runner with its Operation Timber Sycamore which armed the ‘rebels’ and made the long war in Syria possible.
